anon above me linked some stuff that has a lot of the 'usual' stuff like backtagging, triggers, cross-canon, threadjacking, etc.

but some other stuff i think is always nice to see on people's permissions posts is specifically mentioning if they're open to cross-medium and their tagging style including if they're prone to shorter/longer tags. your permissions posts don't need to be super long and like a novel, but i think it's important to try and give a quick idea of what you're open to and looking for when you write them to save everyone some time. i personally try to write mine in a way that gives some additional emphasis on things such as negative cr or fight scenes to give people an idea of where my interests are and where i'm open to things but have some sort of limitation even if i'm down to play it.

basically, include what you think you need to include! even if it's not something you usually see in a permissions posts, doesn't hurt to add it if you think it's important. definitely recommend clicking around on people's journals on memes to see what kind of stuff they list as well.

i honestly keep mine really simple with four categories:

1. one-two line summary of the character + link to wiki (i'm fortunate enough to have that for most of the characters i play)
2. any major content warnings regarding my characters
3. any red lines on my side
4. lastly, i list some types of scenarios (whether genres or outright scenes) i'd be really into playing with this particular characters.

you can add as much or as little as you're comfortable.

I've personally found it more useful to stay away from the backtagging/violence/whatever template and have sections for what I actually do want: ships I like, themes or threads I'm looking for, crosscanon I'd be jazzed about, etc. the bare-bones template a lot of people use is more geared toward games, imo, and on memes you'll get a lot more bites if you offer more information to start with.

the above are really good, and i think it's also helpful to include what kind of relationsihps your'e looking for like if your'e only wanting to play with canonmates, or you're only looking for found family, or only shipping, or you're not into [insert medium or relationship style here], etc
