anon i have no idea how old you are or how long you've been out of this general rp sphere but i'd say the majority of the people in dwrp are in their thirties and a good chunk in their forties too and nobody has got time for that anymore. not to say you'll never encounter people who are gossipy or toxic or shitheads but the kind of stuff that people bitched about back when we were young... people just don't care about anymore. a huge chunk of the folks here are trying to squeeze in rp as a hobby around busy jobs / personal health stuff / looking after family members / money worries, and what have you, and who played where back when will hardly even register. if people don't like your writing, they'll probably just end up drifting off and finding other writing partners, and if you don't like the vibe of the people you write with, you should do the same.
