rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.

picking up a new rare character, only to find out that an ex rp partner picked up the other half of the ship… it’s awkward enough to where i abandoned all my threads, even though i really like my character! i even commed a ton of icons before i saw my old partner was in the same fandom…

Man, you can't let them continue to affect your fun, just opt out if you see them or tell them you're not interested. Rip thr bandage of. Or don't assume they wanna play with you.

my ex-rp partner would do this on purpose, and not list who they were in the info. then, they'd tag my char as a rare castmate/other half of a rare ship, and gotcha me in DMs... crazzy

I've been there anon. It was weird because they were the one who fully opted out, they tagged my character with a rare canon love interest (on a TDM top level that listed my plurk, which hasn't changed since we rped together - in fact I even played this character back when we RPed together) and then after I threaded with them for a few comments all excited they messaged me to angrily tell me it was "obviously" them and they only tagged me because it would "look bad" if they didn't since they were in the game with a different character, and they expected me to drop the thread and leave them alone and not app into the game. It was really hurtful and embarrassing and I stopped playing that character entirely for a bit.

I suspected that's what someone did, because it was too rare a cast mate and too shoddily thrown together a new journal, so I gave them no new info, just public links they already knew, in case that's what they're after.

ngl this is one of the reasons i like games. unless the other person is batshit enough to hide under a different identity just to play with you, it's easier to avoid ending up with ex rp partners you had a bad time with... especially if you both unfortunately ship the same things.
